Over 70 local residents reunited with SBH doctors and nurses at a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) reunion, held as part of SBH Health System’s year-long 150th anniversary celebration.

The NICU, which was established 18 years ago by Dr. Lazaro Lezcano, cares for ill or premature infants. Former patients, some of whom were born at little more than one pound, greeted the staff warmly with their families and enjoyed fun activities, including face painting, jump roping, and dance lessons in the hospital’s Sycamore Grove.

Books were given out courtesy of the SBH Reach Out and Read program. Maria Herrera was the lucky raffle winner of a flat screen TV, courtesy of Telehealth. SBH appreciates everyone’s support in making this a special event.
