Ophthalmology
The St. Barnabas Ophthalmology group provides a full range of eye care services in our new offices in the SBH Ambulatory Care Center at 4487 Third Avenue. Our Board-certified Ophthalmologists, our licensed and certified Optometrists and our Certified Ophthalmic Technician provide everything from routine yearly eye exams and eyeglass refractions to all medical eye care with special emphasis on:
- Cataracts
- Control of glaucoma
- Treatment of diabetic retinopathy
SBH Retina Service specialists perform needed laser surgical procedures, and our Glaucoma Service performs indicated laser glaucoma procedures, utilizing argon and YAG ophthalmic lasers.
SBH Eye Clinic diagnostic capabilities include:
- Fluorescein angiography
- OCT retinal evaluations
- Pachymetry and visual field studies
Contact lens fittings are done by special appointment.
Finally, cataract extractions are performed conveniently and expertly in the hospital’s new, state-of-the-art operating suite while family members are welcome to wait in the comfortable surroundings of our gleaming new SBH Ambulatory Surgery Center.
