Dinner with a Doctor

The popular Dinner with a Doctor program at St. Barnabas Hospital offers an open invitation to the community to attend a free evening health talk presented by a St. Barnabas physician. Each program is presented in more than one language on separate evenings, reflecting the ethnic diversity of the hospital’s Bronx neighborhood. In addition to English and Spanish, recent talks have been delivered in Albanian and Yoruba.

Topics in the series have included, “Living with Diabetes Is Easier Than You Think,” “Yes, Heart Disease Can Be Prevented,” “Are You or an Elderly Loved One Taking Multiple Medications?” and “Let’s Get to Know Your Feet Better!” All presentations are given by a specialist in the field.

Guests attending Dinner with a Doctor enjoy a light buffet-style supper while seated around a large conference table. The doctor giving the presentation welcomes questions and there is plenty of lively interaction throughout.

For people in the community seeking information on a particular health issue, Dinner with a Doctor is a great opportunity.  For information on upcoming programs call 718-960-9295.
