Breast Health - SBH Health System

Breast Health

The Comprehensive Breast Disease Program at SBH Health System offers treatment options, hope, and compassion to patients with breast cancer along with their family and friends.

Patient Care and Treatment

Patients, family and friends are able to speak to any number of physician specialists about their diagnosis and treatment options.   Our care team includes surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, plastic and reconstructive specialists, social workers and patient navigators.

Our program provides convenient, stress free access to preventive, diagnostic and treatment alternatives for benign and cancerous conditions.  Mammograms are scheduled are scheduled immediately and will be read by a radiologist specializing in mammography.  Certified by the American College of Radiology, diagnostic breast screening services meet the highest professional standards.

Patient requiring surgery benefit from our philosophy of breast conservation, through lumpectomy, onco-plastic procedures as well as nipple-sparring mastectomies.  Board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeons are introduced to patients shortly after their diagnosis to discuss treatment options that are best for the patient.

Hospital-based support groups led by trained social workers  provide counseling and emotional support on issues such as anxiety and treatment compliance to ensure that every patient has the best possible outcome.
