Qualifications

SBH Health System seeks a Senior Vice President & Chief Diversity Officer to build, maintain and grow relationships with community organizations and partners as well as with the local, city, state and federal governments. He/She will serve as the direct link to our neighbors, community groups and government officials facilitating open and ongoing communication with the Bronx community and elected officials. The successful candidate will also oversee the operations of the Volunteer Office, the Community Service Plan; the Community Center of Excellence in Women’s Health [CCOE]; The Diversity Committee, The Language Assistance Program and the Qualified Healthcare Interpreters Program.

He/She will be responsible for strategic, financial and operational functions of the departments and programs listed above. The successful candidate must demonstrate effective managerial and financial skills in addition to communication, consultation, negotiation and collaboration skills with members of the community, political leaders, SBH leadership and other stakeholders that could influence decisions.

The ideal candidate will have a health-related Master’s Degree (MPH, MHA, MHS, MBA). The ideal candidate will also have a minimum of ten years’ experience performing the essential functions of the job. He/she must have a minimum of five years’ experience in senior leadership. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
