2018 AAO Annual Convocation

Written by kcho1
2018 AAO Annual Convocation

The residents and faculty of the SBH Department of OMM recently attended the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) Annual Convocation in Dallas, TX. The conference took place from March 21-25, 2018 at the Hilton Anatole.

All residents in the department submitted research posters for the annual AAO research poster presentation, and all residents were invited to present their posters for the research poster presentation competition. This year one of our PGY-1 residents also submitted a poster, and was able to arrange coverage for her ICU schedule to come to the conference to present. The competition was held on Thursday, March 22, and sponsored by the AAO Louisa Burns Osteopathic Research Committee (LBORC) and the National Undergraduate Fellows Association (NUFA).

The competition drew 73 poster submissions. Posters by students and residents in original research, education and public health, and case studies were accepted.
Congratulations to Dr. Alice I. Chen, for her third place win in the original research category:
Alice I. Chen, DO; Nicholas P. Michael, DO; Christina Monteleone, OMS III; Hugh M. Ettlinger, DO, FAAO, FCA; and Gerard A. Baltazar, DO, FACOS. Safety and Efficacy of OMT in Patients With Moderate or Severe Traumatic Brain Injury
