Mind & Body Wellness in One Place

Written by christinezhuang
Mind & Body Wellness in One Place

The way we receive healthcare services has changed over the past few years. Healthcare providers today are taking a more “holistic” approach to patient care. Holistic means treating mind and body as a whole. The goal is for both primary medical and mental healthcare professionals to work together to provide clients with comprehensive services that will improve their well-being. This is often called integrated or collaborative care.

There are many benefits to being cared for in a collaborative care setting. One benefit is that staff is better able to share information, allowing clinicians to have a more accurate understanding of the patient’s needs. The main benefit is that with information sharing, clinicians are able to make better treatment choices, and provide better care.

SBH Health System is already providing such care in a primary care setting. If you are interested in being part of the integrated care movement, speak to your primary care provider for more information.
