Dr. James Croll, Chief of Nephrology and Medical Director of the Hemodialysis Center at SBH Health System (St. Barnabas Hospital), is the 2016 recipient of the The Bronx County Medical Society’s “Peer to Peer” Excellence in Medicine Recognition Award. Dr. Croll will be presented with the award at the 13th Annual Doctors Day Event on Wednesday, March 30th at the Mercy College Conference Center – Bronx Campus (1200 Waters Place).

The award is given annually to local physicians who have enriched the lives of their patients through exemplary care and dedication.

“Dr. Croll and his team at the Hemodialysis Center make the trying experience of receiving dialysis much more manageable for the hundreds of patients in the community who live with the reality of end stage renal disease,” said Dr. David Perlstein, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at SBH Health System. “They do this every day, showing the kind of professionalism, care and compassion that is unrivaled anywhere in New York City.”

Dr. Croll, who has worked at the hospital for nearly 30 years, is a fellowship trained specialist in Nephrology who trained at hospitals in the Bronx and Rochester, NY. He has been named a Top Doctor by U.S. News & World Report.
