The Bronx has one of the highest rates of asthma in the United States. SBH is committed to combating this issue and has partnered with a.i.r. bronx, a free home-based service offered to children and adults with poorly controlled asthma. Community health workers work together with patients to focus on education, conduct home assessments to identify triggers, and design individualized asthma control plans. a.i.r. bronx also links patients to housing and legal services and coordinates with doctors’ offices to address all issues which make asthma hard to manage.
