SBH provides an innovative and highly effective approach to the treatment of asthma in adults and children in the Bronx where asthma rates are among the highest in the country.

Care at the Asthma Management Center consists of a team approach comprised of board-certified physicians in both pulmonary medicine and allergy, a nurse practitioner, registered nurse, respiratory therapist and medical assistant.

Once a diagnosis of asthma is confirmed, the team creates an Asthma Action Plan for each patient to control and treat the condition. For children whose asthma is controllable, an Environmental Management Plan is developed to help control their asthma attacks to give them the highest quality of life possible.
