Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at SBH Health System

Dennis Burke, DO
Director, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

Dr. Burke and his team have special training in the musculoskeletal system and how the body’s systems are interconnected. Using hands-on osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), they diagnose and resolve patients’ symptoms by aligning the structures of the body and improving mobility.

OMT is often combined with traditional treatments to improve the body’s nervous and circulatory systems, help the body recover more quickly from injury, and enhance its ability to maintain its own health.

OMT at SBH is used to treat a wide range of pain conditions, as well as such disorders as:

  • Asthma
  • Arthritis
  • TMJ
  • Scoliosis
  • Sinus congestion
  • Digestive disorders
  • Stress and tension-related problems
  • Bladder and menstrual problems
  • Chronic pain and illness

Strain/sprains, sciatica, back pain, tendinitis, headache, behavioral problems, colic in infants, dental problems, and symptoms related to fibromyalgia are all appropriate for an OMT consultation.

Dr. Hugh Ettlinger is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment.
