SBH is leading the way to a smoke-free future
At the forefront of smoking cessation, SBH achieved a milestone in May 2008 by becoming the first smoke-free hospital campus in the Bronx. The following year, we were honored with a plaque from the New York City Council for our proactive leadership in fostering a smoke-free community.
Each year, SBH participates in the Great American Smokeout and, most recently, our smoking cessation team took part in Kick Butts Day, encouraging teens to STAND OUT, SPEAK UP, and SEIZE CONTROL AGAINST TOBACCO.
Community Collaboration
SBH actively collaborates with community programs to promote smoking cessation through outreach, patient resources, and partnerships with organizations like the American Cancer Society and Bronx BREATHES.
SBH Managed Programs
SBH runs a smoking cessation program that uses a combination of medications and supportive measures to help people quit smoking. This includes science-based treatments to minimize patients’ nicotine withdrawal symptoms and maximize their success in achieving either a smoking reduction or total cessation.
