Dedicated and compassionate cancer care
At SBH, we take pride in not only our clinical excellence, but in providing our patients and their families with compassionate, hands-on cancer care. Our state-of-the-art facility combines advanced diagnostic and treatment modalities, with patient-friendly accommodations.
Cancer services at SBH
Our team of bilingual, board certified oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, nurses and counselors offers a multidisciplinary and caring approach to helping patients throughout the course of their illness.
SBH Infusion Center
The center is designed to offer comfort and convenience during treatment sessions, with amenities such as comfortable seating and on-site medical staff trained to provide personalized care.
Patients benefit from expert monitoring and management of side effects, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the infusion process.
The center also focuses on providing emotional support and education to help patients navigate their treatment journey with confidence and care.
Radiation treatment
The Radiation treatment is a targeted approach to treating cancer, designed to precisely attack cancerous cells while minimizing impact on surrounding healthy tissue.
Delivered with compassion and attention to your individual needs, this therapy aims to provide effective results while offering emotional support throughout your journey.
The treatment process is carefully managed by a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to your comfort and well-being. With a focus on both physical, emotional care and your recovery.
Mobile mammography unit
The new mobile unit is equipped with state-of-the-art digital technology that provides safe, accurate images, faster than traditional X-rays and with less exposure to radiation.
In addition to offering mammograms, the mobile mammography unit provides women with clinical breast screening and breast education.
Breast Clinic
Patients, family and friends are able to speak to any number of physician specialists about their diagnosis and treatment options. Our care team includes surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, plastic and reconstructive specialists, social workers and patient navigators.
Our program provides convenient, stress-free access to preventive, diagnostic and treatment alternatives for benign and cancerous conditions. This includes 3D mammography, which research has shown is a more precise way of examining breast tissue to determine masses and distortions associated with cancers than conventional 2D mammography. Studies have shown that with 3D mammography doctors detect between 20 and 65 percent more invasive breast cancers compared to 2D technology alone.
Counseling and support
These groups are designed to address the psychological and emotional challenges that can accompany treatment, offering a safe space for patients to express their feelings, share experiences, and gain valuable coping strategies.
Patients also have access to a range of external support services that address their emotional and physical needs. For example, the Look Good…Feel Better program is intended to provide cancer patients with makeup and tips to make them look and feel better about themselves. Meanwhile, the SHARE program offers support for women with breast, metastatic breast and ovarian cancer, both in English and Spanish.
