Specialized care for orthopedic injuries
Our orthopedic team wants to help you live an active life. If you’ve suffered a sports injury or need a joint replacement, we’re here to get you moving again. Our specialists provide surgical and nonsurgical treatments that are both innovative and comprehensive.
From rotator cuff repairs to offering you solutions for degenerative arthritis, our experienced, board-certified orthopedic specialists are trained to help reduce your pain, and restore your function and independence as much as possible. As an orthopedic trauma center, we also treat serious bone, joint and muscle injuries that need specialized attention right away. And we can help children with injuries or musculoskeletal conditions, too.
Our orthopedic services
The orthopedic surgeons at SBH treat all injuries and health conditions related to the bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Our focus is on reducing pain and improving function as much as possible, and as quickly as possible, with many of our services performed in an outpatient setting.
For high-quality orthopedic services that combine the latest advances in diagnostics and treatments with compassionate care that’s close to home, trust the experts at SBH Health System.
Joint replacements
Severe arthritis pain can limit your activities and ability to live independently. If you need a joint replacement due to joint disease or deterioration, we can help relieve your pain and get you moving again with joint replacement surgery.
We use the latest techniques for knee ligament reconstruction, cartilage repair, regeneration and meniscal transplantation. And we’re highly skilled at performing arthroscopic (minimally invasive joint surgery) rotator cuff repairs and shoulder stabilization procedures.
Sports medicine
Living an active life can sometimes lead to injury. We’ll help you get back to your sport pain-free — and fast. Our orthopedic team provides comprehensive care for athletes of all ages, from kids to older adults. We diagnose and treat conditions including:
-
- ACL injuries and knee pain
- Bone fractures
- Concussions
- Dislocations
- Joint injuries and pain
- Ligament injuries
- Shoulder pain and rotator cuff injuries
- Sprains and strains
- Tendonitis and tendon injuries
- Tennis elbow
Although surgery may be required in certain cases, we recommend nonsurgical treatment options — like rest, anti-inflammatory medications and physical therapy — whenever possible
Trauma injuries
Accidents and aging can cause injuries to the joints, bones and soft tissues (muscles, ligaments and tendons) in the body. If you’ve suffered from a fall or were hurt in a car or motorcycle accident, we offer a variety of diagnostic tools and treatments to care for your injury right away.
Our orthopedic surgeons are trained in restoring function and mobility, preventing long-term disability, and treating complex injuries. Our goal is to reduce your pain and improve your quality of life. Still, we’ll only use surgical treatments if necessary. Instead, we may recommend physical therapy, rest or a supportive cast or brace.
Dedicated surgical navigator
We want to ensure you have the best possible outcome. That’s why we have a dedicated surgical navigator on our team to help answer your questions, schedule your appointments and make sure your recovery goes smoothly.
Our surgical navigator is available to assist you both before and after your surgery, and will help connect you with education and resources so you can understand your diagnosis and treatment — including what you need to know so you can get back on your feet quickly.
Minimally invasive orthopedic procedures
We offer minimally invasive options for many joint replacement surgeries. This allows us to target the treatment to only address the problem area. For example, knee arthroscopy (a type of minimally invasive joint surgery) uses a camera and small surgical tools to pinpoint the area that needs repair. The smaller incisions and more focused treatment may help reduce swelling and inflammation, lower the risk of complications, and restore your function more quickly than traditional surgery.
Also, many of our minimally invasive surgical procedures can be done in an outpatient setting, meaning you start recovering sooner.
